League Structure – TSSA
Tshwane Schools Softball started in 1979 to create a league for schools, previously club league had a junior league.
The league grew into the strongest in South Africa.
+- 3500 players play in the Tshwane league, with 40 high and primary schools participating.
The high school league is a strength versus strength structure with primary schools looking to change from district to new league structure proposal in 2024 aligning with high school structure.
High school leagues:
- A – League – Top schools
- B- League – Schools moving down from A-league or up from C-League
- C – League – Smaller schools moving out of D-League or down from B-league
- D – League – New schools
- E – League – B-Teams from A/B-League schools
- F – League – Boys league.
Age groups
Primary schools – U10, U11, U12, U13
High schools – U14, U15, U16, U19
TSSA Championship
Top 4 schools in each age group plays in final, normal 1 v 4 and 2v 3, with winners playing for Gold & Silver and losers playing for bronze 3rd place. Championship finals are normally played at Crafford Stadium in Rietondale.
