Equipment
South Africa through SSA (Softball, South Africa), GASA (Gauteng Softball Association), TSA (Tshwane Softball Association) & TSSA (Tshwane Schools Softball Association follows the WBSC directive for equipment.
This limits the type of equipment allowed to be used in TSSA or other leagues.
Currently WBSC or ASA certifications allowed.
Balls
Previously Diamond Balls were the approved ball, later Baden balls were also authorised to be used. Some Rawlings balls are found in high school league with Flame being the ball mostly used for practice and by some schools for games due to cost of balls.
